File Doesn't Exist on the Server: Project Zomboid Brita Models

Fix Project Zomboid client/server file mismatch errors, including brita_models.txt, by synchronizing Builds and Workshop copies before risky cache resets.

  1. Save the full mismatch message, including whether the file is missing on the client or server and the complete path.
  2. Confirm server and client use the same Project Zomboid build.
  3. Identify the Workshop item and dependency that owns the named file, such as brita_models.txt.
  4. Stop the server, update its Workshop items, and let initialization finish.
  5. On the client, unsubscribe and resubscribe to the single affected item and required dependencies, then wait for Steam to finish.
  6. Restart Steam, the game, and the server before testing again.

If Brita works in single-player

That proves only that one client can load its local copy. Compare the server’s Workshop ID and Mod ID entries, required Brita dependencies, and the paths shown in the mismatch message. Do not manually copy one script into the base game: that can hide one mismatch while creating a modified installation.
